THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE.The streets of Toowoomba will be bursting with colour, creativity and community spirit as the iconic Grand Central Floral Parade returns this year with a kaleidoscope of colour on Saturday September 20 from 10am.
As one of the most beloved events on the Carnival calendar, the Grand Central Floral Parade is more than just a procession; it’s a celebration of Toowoomba’s blooming beauty, community pride, and artistic flair. This year's parade will draw thousands of locals and visitors alike into the heart of the city for a morning of floral fanfare.
In 2025, the parade promises to be bigger and brighter than ever, with a vibrant array of floats brought to life by local businesses, schools, and community groups, all themed around this year’s fitting motif: Floral Frenzy. Expect a joyful collision of colour, design and natural wonder as the parade winds through Toowoomba’s CBD, accompanied by live music, street performers and cultural displays.
The event is completely free and livestreamed for those who can’t make it in person, ensuring everyone has a chance to experience the magic. There will also be a designated mobility viewing area on Ruthven Street (opposite the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery), ensuring the event is inclusive and accessible to all.
Whether you're a first-time visitor or a lifelong fan of the Carnival, the Grand Central Floral Parade remains a must-see moment. It’s a celebration of Toowoomba’s community heart, garden soul, and proud local partnerships. Grand Central’s continued support ensures the parade continues to flourish, year after year.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, bring a fold out chair, and settle in with sun protection and plenty of water. While dogs are welcome (on a lead, of course!), owners should consider if their furry friends are suited to large crowds and noisy fanfare.
The parade begins at the corner of Herries and Hume Streets and will snake its way through Ruthven, Margaret and Hume Streets before finishing up at Queens Park, just in time for a picnic amongst the petals and a wander through the nearby award-winning floral displays.
