Experience the elegance, warmth and beauty of classical music when the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra (ARCO) brings its captivating Bohemian Dreams tour to Brisbane and regional Queensland this August.
Launching at the lush surrounds of Plant Empire in Brisbane on Friday, 21 August, this unique concert series celebrates the rich sounds of the Classical era with an inspiring program performed on rare period instruments, including the natural horn, clarinet, violin, viola and cello.
Journey through a collection of sparkling chamber works by celebrated composers including Mozart and Schubert, alongside lesser-known Bohemian masters Franz Krommer and Giovanni Punto, whose music is rarely heard in concert halls today.
Following the Brisbane performance, guests are also invited to ARCO's much-loved Talk & Tea, where they can meet the musicians over drinks and decadent Bohemian charcuterie and dessert.
Led by Brisbane-based co-artistic director and clarinettist Nicole van Bruggen, ARCO is renowned for its historically informed performances, recreating the sound world of the 18th and early 19th centuries using authentic instruments and performance techniques.
Following its Brisbane opening, the tour travels to Gympie, Caloundra, Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Maryborough, with several performances featuring collaborations with talented local youth and community orchestras, celebrating Queensland's vibrant music scene.
