King St Mother's Day Market

The King St Mother’s Day Markets are back for 2026, bringing an easy early evening of shopping, dining and local discovery to Bowen Hills on Friday, May 8 from 4pm to 9pm.

For one night only, King St will transform into a twilight marketplace, showcasing a curated mix of local makers, designers and food vendors, with thoughtful gifts, fresh blooms, sweet treats and small-batch goods ahead of Mother’s Day.

Curated by Brisbane market specialists Marketfolk, the lineup brings together a considered mix of local makers spanning handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, art, candles, fashion and small batch gourmet treats, with a focus on quality, locally made goods.

Adding to the experience, Brisbane based Madi & Pip will introduce a live illustration element, with artist Emma Bond creating bespoke “mother and me” sketches onsite. Each piece is drawn in minutes, offering visitors a personalised keepsake to take home.

New to the market line up, Queen Amann will feature a dedicated stall showcasing its signature pastries. Also making its market debut, Gourmet Pressed will join the lineup with a stall serving warm toasties and canned coffee.

Returning favourite Magpie Goose will also be open across the evening, presenting its ethically made, First Nations designed clothing range.

Meantime precinct favourite Kuhl-Cher Coffee will extend its trading hours for the event, keeping visitors fuelled throughout the evening.

Alongside the markets, visitors can enjoy live entertainment and the precinct’s dining offering, encouraging guests to linger and make a night of it!
