Father's Day

Walkabout Creek

Updated: Sep 08, 2026

Escape to the bush this Father’s Day and treat Dad to a delicious buffet breakfast or lunch at Walkabout Creek Cafe on Sunday September 6, nestled within the beautiful natural surrounds of D’Aguilar National Park.

There are two breakfast sittings to choose from, with a spread of hot and cold favourites including crispy bacon, scrambled free-range eggs, hash browns, Cumberland sausages, field mushrooms, waffles with butterscotch and cannellini beans. There’ll also be pastries, fresh fruit, coconut yoghurt, juice, freshly brewed coffee and tea to round out the feast.

Breakfast is $55 for adults, $30 for kids aged 3–12 and free for under-threes, with sittings from 8am–9.30am or 10am–11.30am.

Lunch at Walkabout Creek

If Dad prefers a sleep-in, book the 1pm lunch buffet, where you can tuck into beef rump with onion gravy, baked barramundi with mild red curry coconut cream, lemon thyme chicken and a hearty eggplant moussaka. There’s also rosemary roasted potatoes, classic coleslaw, fresh salads and breads, followed by sweet treats including chocolate brownie and caramel slice.

Lunch is $65 for adults, $30 for kids aged 3–12 and free for under-threes.

After breakfast or lunch, make a day of it with a stroll around the picturesque shores of Enoggera Reservoir or a short walk through the surrounding bushland.

Just 20 minutes from Brisbane CBD, it’s an easy way to swap the city for a little fresh air, good food and quality time with Dad.
