Brisbane City Markets Expansion
Updated: Jul 22, 2026
Brisbane City Markets are getting a major expansion, with up to 80 vendors, Friday night markets and new family-friendly experiences set to transform the heart of the CBD.
The popular weekly markets, operated by Goodwill Projects, currently feature around 60 vendors each Wednesday and will expand to up to 80 stalls over the next year.
The expanded markets will also introduce:
- cultural flavour months
- cooking demonstrations
- guided tours
- public play areas with giant games and board game tables
Brisbane City Markets will also launch Friday night markets, with the first to be held on 26 September.
At least two evening market events are planned this year, with four scheduled in 2027, encouraging more people into the CBD after dark.
Need to know - Residents can visit Brisbane City Markets every Wednesday from 8am to 5pm in Reddacliff Place at the top of Queen Street Mall. The first Friday night market will be held from 4pm to 9pm on Friday 26 September.
