On Sunday 12 July, from 12:00pm until 5:00pm, Sasso Italiano in Woolloongabba will be transformed as the Mile9 team brings its signature Detroit-style pizzas to Brisbane for a one-day-only takeover.
Expect an afternoon celebrating great food, great drinks, great music, and of course great pizza.
Recently recognised by Nova 100 as serving one of Melbourne's Top 3 pizzas, and featured in The Age Good Food Guide in April 2026, Mile9 has quickly developed a loyal following for its bold flavours, pillowy dough and unmistakable crispy caramelised cheese edges.
The brand has a story almost as memorable as its pizzas. Originally launched as 9Mile Pizza, the team rebranded after receiving a letter from lawyers representing a certain Detroit-born rapper. Instead of fighting it, they simply flipped the name to Mile9. The name changed, but the cult-favourite Detroit-style pizza stayed exactly the same.
The activation marks the official Brisbane launch of Mile9 ahead of the brand's permanent arrival as a delivery-only concept, operating from a Brisbane ghost kitchen and available across Uber Eats and DoorDash.
Guests can expect the full Mile9 experience, including its signature Detroit-style pizzas, renowned for their thick, airy crusts, crispy cheese edges and bold American-inspired flavours. For one day only, the menu will also feature goodies such as spicy chicken wings, Detroit chicken burgers and Negroni and Margarita specials.
Whether you're heading to the footy, looking for Sunday lunch or simply chasing one of Melbourne's most talked-about pizzas, Mile9's Brisbane debut promises to be one of the city's tastiest pop-up events of the year.
