A little known fact about Brisbane is that as a capital city it is home to some of the best bush walks of any Australian city. And when it comes to finding Brisbane’s best bush walks, there’s no need to go far from the CBD, with so many tracts of native bush still scattered throughout the city.

Best of all, no bush walk in Brisbane is the same - from Teneriffe’s secret bushy knoll to Tarragindi’s ancient sandstone strewn Toohey Forest Reserve and White’s Hill’s stunning vistas in the Camp Hill/Coorparoo, to the historic hidden lagoons of Logan or the foothills of the D’Aguilar National Park (with the remains of an old gold mine) just 20 minutes west, bush walkers in Brisbane are spoilt for choice. Travel a little beyond Brisbane to find Mt Nebo and Mt Tamborine’s lush rainforests, Springbrook’s world heritage forests with ancient Antarctic beeches or to the coast for some stunning beach front national parks with swimming coves. Or head across sea to some coastal islands for some of the most gorgeous walks of all, featuring sea life and native fauna.
