The inaugural Queensland Superhot Chilli Festival will take place in the grounds adjacent to Ballistic Brewing at Salisbury on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 November.

Briz Chilli Fest, launched in 2018, has gathered a loyal following amongst chilli heads, but has rebranded to Queensland Superhot, as a sister festival to the new Sydney Superhot brand which launched successfully in May 2025.

All the usual fun of Scarlett Habanero's professionally-run chilli festivals will be doubled and patrons can attend for one or both days.

To celebrate the new branding, there will be a Fiery Fiesta Afterparty in the Ballistic Brewhouse, featuring a fiery latin band with a professional dance show and interactive lessons on the Saturday night.

Some red-hot musical offerings from two of Queensland’s finest guitarists – Sean Mullen and Mojo Webb – and vocalist Sandra Beynon will add to the day.

There will be more than a dozen Hellfire Alley vendors on hand to showcase their tasty and spicy wares for you to try before you buy.

No less than six fiery chilli challenges will fire up the contestants and the patrons alike – Napalm Noodles, Diabolical Dogs, Fiery Pods, Flaming Wings, and Spicy Jerky!

There is also a Homemade Heat Competition which is a chance for amateur cooks to have their creations judged for deliciousness!

As a pet-friendly event, dress up your furry pal and enter the Chilli Dog Competition for some prizes. Humans can also get into the spicy spirit, and win prizes for their costumes.

In a nutshell - Guest chefs, a chilli dog parade, costume comps and of course the chance to taste hundreds of locally-produced chilli products all in one place!
