Updated: Sep 01, 2025
THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE.Celebrate the annual tradition of Burning of the Vines dinner at Sirromet Winery with a special 25th Anniversary twist, on Saturday August 30.
Start the evening experience at Lurleen’s, where entrées and main courses will be served with expertly matched wines and the warm sounds of live acoustic music.
As the evening progresses, guests will make their way down for the lighting of the vines—an annual signature moment on the Sirromet calendar. Originating from France, the burning of the vines marks the end of harvest and the winter pruning. Tradition dictates collecting grapevine cuttings then burning them to cleanse the vineyards. It is also a time to celebrate the new bud bursts and new vintage.
The evening continues at the Tuscan Terrace, where dessert will be served in a relaxed, standing-style setting. Enjoy a specially made anniversary cake, cut by The Morris Family, alongside a selection of sweet accompaniments and upbeat tunes as the fire crackles nearby.
Each guest will take home a limited-edition 25th Anniversary bottle of wine, created to mark this milestone occasion.
An evening of fine food, fine wine, and fiery celebration—join Sirromet for a night to remember!
