Updated: May 29, 2020

When it comes to getting the family out into the great outdoors, Brisbane and surrounds are awash with great child-friendly walking trails, from bush to bay, the CBD to beaches, gardens and wetlands, when you know where to look.

For some inspiration, here are 12 of the best family friendly walks suitable for all ages that we've found in and around Brisbane:

King Island - Wellington Point

This unique sea walk connecting Wellington Point to tiny King Island is an adventure for kids, with its 'quick sand' around the edges and the race to beat the tide before the sand bridge disappears. Along the way there's crabs to spot and the option to stop for a swim...more

There are 2 tracks to choose from in this 45 min walk around Burleigh headland, both with amazing views - the easier Oceanview at sea level, or the Rainforest walk to the 88m high summit. In summer bring the swimming togs and take the steps down to Echo Beach on Tallebudgera Creek...more
