Janus Deli
West End
Updated: Mar 04, 2026
Located in the heart of West End’s popular dining precinct, Janus Deli is home to some of Brisbane’s best sandwiches.
Tucked away along iconic Boundary Road, this deli is known for its standout menu of sandwiches, sides and desserts.
Janus Deli occupies a quaint corner spot featuring a modern interior that maximises natural light and warm timber accents. The layout of the space is streamlined, with a front counter designed for efficient ordering, alongside a tempting display of freshly baked sweets that are simply too good to resist.
Their toasted sandwiches have built a strong local following, with the standout being the Truffy Mushy - a rich combination of truffle mushrooms, provolone, mozzarella and truffle mayo layered between slices of crispy sourdough. It’s an indulgent upgrade from the standard lunchbox sandwich.
Looking for something a little different? Be sure to sample one of their Korean fried chicken plates. With a wide range of options, there’s something for everyone, from garlic soy karaage to their Korean spicy variation for those who can handle a bit of heat.
Now onto the best part - dessert. There’s a delectable range of doughnuts on offer, with a cult favourite being the strawberries and cream doughnut. Inspired by Japanese strawberry and cream sandos, it’s a lighter option that delivers sweetness without being overly indulgent.
They also offer a range of more indulgent and playful options, such as the Pistachio Cruller, Caramilk Doughnut, and Golden Gaytime Doughnut. It’s the ideal spot to grab some show-stopping desserts if you’re not a whiz in the kitchen but have been tasked with bringing dessert to an event.
With plenty of gyms, Pilates studios, and local walking routes nearby, it’s easy to see why Janus Deli is a morning hotspot. Arrive early, and you’ll spot locals stopping in for their coffee fix, and rightly so, as the deli serves up some fantastic alternative drinks, from tiramisu lattes and Mont Blancs to, of course, matcha.
Good to know - They also have locations in Slacks Creek and Surfer's Paradise.
Need to know - Limited street parking is available nearby, or you can use the Harris Farm parking lot, where up to three hours is free.
