Nundah Corner Café and Bistro is a casual eatery in the heart of Nundah Village with a laid back vibe and friendly service, offering top-notch breakfast, lunch and dinner and excellent coffee.
Located on the corner of Sandgate Road and Boyd Street, this al fresco style café is open daily for breakfast and lunch and on Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm for dinner.
The concise but inspired breakfast menu includes lighter options like ginger and apple bircher museli, nut granola, avocado and heirloom tomato on grain toast with dukkah and whipped goats cheese. More substantial offerings include smoked pork rillettes eggs benedict, ricotta pancakes (with passionfruit and coconut caramel, finger lime and marscapone), the vegetarian grill (eggs, mushroom, grilled tomato, cauli chickpea fritters and relish) or the popular Nundah grill (bacon, sausages, eggs, mushroom, grilled tomato and sourdough).
Lunch options, served from 11 to 2, range from wagyu beef burgers and gourmet, made to order sandwiches (think slow cooked lamb, chicken Waldorf and crispy pork belly) to delish salads (such as sumac-seasoned pumpkin or crumbed chicken) and hearty fare like beer battered fish and chips, twice cooked pork belly with burnt onion puree and charred broccolini or 180g Cape Grim Hangar Steak with mushroom sauce or red wine jus.
Not just a great brunch cafe, Nundah Corner ramps things up with its delicious dinners, available from 5pm till late on Wed-Sun As well as some of the more hearty lunch dishes, on the dinner menu are whole trout with burnt butter, tarragon emulsion and garden harvest and rolled veal tenderloin with potato gratin, native peppercorn, artichoke espuma and salt bush.
Child friendly, kids can tuck into scrambled egg, bacon and toast, sour dough toast with jam or spreads or mini pancake stack for breakfast. And for lunch there's 'small fry' fish and chips, kids pasta and sauce, or chicken burger with fries. And for afters, kids sundaes come with toppings of chocolate, caramel or strawberry.
Merlo coffee is on pour. Otherwise there’s Tea Tonic herbal teas, freshly squeezed juices, gelato milkshakes and fruit smoothies. Try the Mango Tango or Berry Blitz.
