Travel Insurance, Bonds and Liability

  • Coomera Houseboats Gold Coast follows strict maritime guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance and safety to customers.
  • Coomera Houseboats Gold Coast holds a marine insurance policy covering loss & damage to the vessel and Third Party Legal Liability. Bond must be paid by the hirer to cover the excess in case of claims for loss or damage. Insurance will pay valid claims providing the hirer operates the vessel safely and in accordance with the applicable maritime regulations. Coomera Houseboats Gold Coast strongly recommends that guests also have personal travel/medical/cancellation insurance.
  • Damage to navigation beacons incurs an additional $3000 on top of the bond to be paid by the customer.
  • Bond Payment/Release: On arrival, you are required to lodge a security bond for the houseboat. Security bonds or ‘bonds’ must be lodged by credit card at time of check in. Usually, bonds will be cleared back to customers on the day of check out after an inventory check and providing the vessel has been returned clean and tidy and without loss or damage. Coomera Houseboats Gold Coast do, however, reserve the right to take up to 7 days to return bonds or confiscate bonds or part thereof if damages or losses occur as a result of your hiring the vessel.

Customers should allow for between 3-5 working days for clearance of all credit card bonds. All and any bond issues that may arise will be clearly discussed with all parties.

$3,000 bond applies to both Blue Sky SPA and The Prestige SPA.
