Harry Potter & The Prisoner Of Azkaban

In Concert

Harry Potter fans won’t want to miss Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s third instalment of the Harry Potter film concerts, with The Prisoner of Azkaban being performed twice on Saturday, May 19, at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The spellbinding music from the extraordinarily successful films based on J.K. Rowling’s books are a perfect accompaniment to the films themselves, with the concert series conducted by its creator and producer, Justin Freer.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

This time round, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will be showing in high definition on a huge 12-metre screen. If you haven’t yet experienced the immersive thrill of watching one of the magical films while the orchestra plays the score live, you’re in for a treat. Both Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets were hits with the fans. No doubt they’ll be returning for more so you’d better book your tickets soon.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

Just in case you need a reminder of the story, Harry, Ron and Hermione are now teenagers who return for their third year at Hogwarts. There they come into contact with Harry’s uncle Sirius Black, a werewolf, the lovable Hippogriff Buckbeak, and of course those terrifying Dementors.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

Nice to know - Earning an Oscar-nomination for the score, the music for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was composed by John Williams.

Need to know - The performance is three hours with a 20-minute interval.
