brisbane delis

Good Brisbane delis tend to be a two-fold affair – either they are long-standing and/or traditional institutions of continental origin established in post war years by immigrants longing for an olive and a slice of smoked sausage, or virtual gourmet emporia of the best and often expensive produce.

The gap is slowly closing thanks to the sprinkle of deli cafes that have sprung up in shopping strips, offering a welcome alternative to the often less than inspiring offerings of supermarket deli counters.
