Stokebar Q
South Bank
UPDATE: Stokehouse closed permanently in 2020.
STOKEBAR Q has the best seats in South Bank, alongside the iconic Stokehouse Q restaurant at River Quay, with stunning views, sensational food and creative cocktails.
Following a million-dollar renovation in late 2018, this riverside bar has increased seating with private booths, intimate spaces and a wrap-around lounge that takes full advantage of the venue’s fantastic location.
The Hand and Fork Menu, carefully crafted by Executive Chef Richard Ousby, showcases the best of Queensland and regional Australian produce.
Bites to be eaten by hand include artisan cheeses and charcuterie, natural oysters, prawn sangas, bolognese and mozzarella jaffles, and goats milk haloumi with burnt honey and fresh mint.
From the Fork menu, patrons can choose more substantial dishes like minute steak with grilled lemon and chimichurri, pork cotoletta with fennel and caper slaw, and Fraser Island spanner crab with buckwheat noodles. Indulgent desserts range from fresh blueberries with yuzu gelato, frozen blueberry curd and salted meringue to The Bombe - frozen white chocolate parfait with strawberries and toasted meringue.
Meanwhile, signature cocktails to try include Goodwill Rising (a tribute to the bridge beside Stokehouse) concocted with Don Julio blanco tequila, fig jam, ginger, pineapple shrub, vanilla syrup and lemon juice, and The Diamantina (a nod to Lady Diamantina Bowen, the wife of the first Governor of Queensland) made with Pennyweight Constance Fino, Manly Marine vodka, thyme, cucumber and lemon oil, topped with soda water, and served with nori & citrus caviar nestled in an oyster shell.
Music features prominently at STOKEBAR Q with DJs bringing the vibes every Friday and Saturday evenings as well as Sunday afternoons.
