Kaleidoscope
Judith Wright Centre
Kaleidoscope is a dazzling circus show with an inspirational focus at the Judith Wright Centre this Easter school holiday.
The circus stars an amazing young boy and Flipside Circus student, Ethan Langridge, who was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at four years of age and, who, due to his condition, understands the world through touch.
Directed by Chelsea McGuffin with Ethan and the ensemble of Company 2, Kaleidoscope explores the great beauty found in the smallest things and is an ideal show for the whole family to enjoy.
Circus is the perfect vehicle for Ethan (who senses his surroundings with his finger pads and tips of his toes) to express himself and Kaleidoscope takes audiences on a trip through the ups and downs of everyday life while celebrating the unique spirit of Ethan and others like him in the community.
The show takes its name from his mother Joanna’s description of stepping into his world - like ‘joyfully walking through shafts of colour and light; a dazzling kaleidoscope’. A book that she wrote about her experiences living with Ethan was the inspiration behind the show.
Show times - Wed Apr 6 2pm; Thu Apr 7 2pm, 7.30pm; Fri Apr 8 7.30pm; Sat Apr 9 2pm, 7.30pm
