Dirty Sultan

Fortitude Valley

Dirty Sultan is a splendid Turkish-inspired rooftop bar atop The Constance in Fortitude Valley, featuring day beds, exotic cocktails, delicious Middle Eastern mezze and a secret shisha lounge.

Down the alleyway beside the hotel is an elevator to whisk patrons to the glamorous bar with views across the Valley skyline.

The contemporary space is divided into inviting nooks for drinking and dining, with booths featuring intricate artworks by LA artist Asad Faulwell, wall gardens, day beds surrounded by sheer curtains, ottomans, dining tables and bar benches under a state of the art retractable roof, and strings of handmade Turkish lanterns from the Grand Bazaar in Turkey.

To one corner, through a door and behind a wood-panelled screen is the Turkish-bath-house style shisha room, the only place in Brisbane's inner city where patrons can enjoy a traditional shisha experience.

Cocktails at Dirty Sultan are the star of the drinks menu, featuring Middle eastern flavours like Turkish Delight, the Farah (a Turkish espresso martini using Turkish coffee), Leyla (Turkisk mojito, pomegranate and mint flavoured) and the Emira (butter-washed baklava bourbon). There's also a selection of bottled spirits, boutique wines and craft beers.

The Turkish street food menu is designed to share, starting with Meze (including spinach & cheese gozleme, home-made Turkish bread, pumpkin and beetroot hummus or haloumi fries. Share plates include Turkish Bao (with fillings such as crispy eggplant, tahini sauce and sesame seeds), Turkish pide, char-grilled chicken or lamb skewers, sticky chicken wings with preserved hney and lemon dressing or Turkish spring rolls (three cheese with lemon aioli). There's also Mediterranean or roasted heirloom carrot salad, followed by desserts such as Nutella baklava and Turkish Delight sundae.

Good to know - Dirty Sultan also has a stunning pink Turkish cafe and function room Rose Room Cafe on the floor below.

Need to know - The main dining area turns into a dance floor later in the evening.
