The Tuckshop

Hendra

THE TUCKSHOP WAS REPLACED BY THE HAMPTONS RESTAURANT AT THE START OF 2018 AND IS ON THE MOVE TO A NEW PREMISE ON NUDGEE RD.

Once an old fashioned corner store in Hendra, The Tuckshop Restaurant is a tastefully renovated licensed cafe that is now a popular choice with locals looking to enjoy a great casual dining experience.

A daily specials board offers up a variety of options, whist the menu has an impressive range of choices. Breakfast dishes include the likes of Ricotta Griddle Cakes, Masala-Spiced Omelette, Potato, Black Cabbage and Bacon Fry Up with eggs and hot sauce or Caramelised Cinnamon Toast.

For a lunchtime treat, look out for choices like Scampi and Soba Noodle Salad, Pappardelle Pasta with smoked trout, Gruyere Cheese Toasty or Stir-Fried Scallops with Chinese Vegetables . Try to leave room for pudding and give your tastebuds a treat with a Golden Gaytime ice-cream sandwich or Griled House Banana Bread with espresso butter.

 The Tuckshop Hendra

The front counter at The Tuckshop is adorned with freshly baked cakes, donuts, slices and muffins - a little like a very upmarket tuckshop. Everything here is prepared on site, with the only exception being bread and croissants. These are delivered daily by artisan bakery, Sprout and New Farm patisserie, Chouquette. Fresh produce is sourced from the Brisbane markets.

Campos coffee, Origin teas, smoothies and juices will quench thirsts with soy, lactose free and almond milk available. The Tuckshop is licensed, so customers can also enjoy their favourite drop with their meal.

There are several seating choices here, including a sunken room, perfect for a group and very popular so call ahead and book this spot. A small, leafy courtyard provides an outdoors option and is sure to be a cool haven in warmer months.

The interior decor at The Tuckshop is fresh and modern, giving a light and airy ambience.

Staff are very welcoming and smiles are given freely - always a big plus. Take the four legged family member for a walk too, a water dish and tie up post are provided for them outside.

Owner and Manager of The Tuckshop, Max Roberts said he wanted this business venture to be an unpretentious place where locals liked to go to eat. Judging by the happy buzz here, it seems he has achieved his goal.
