Ningura Napurrula Gibson
Mitchell Fine Art
Mitchell Fine Art's 2nd exhibition for the month of August showcases the striking work of Central Australian Aboriginal artist Ningura Napurrula Gibson.
Ningura was born circa 1938 in the remote desert of Western Australia and did not begin painting in her own right until the mid 1990's.
In 2003 she was one of five artists to have her artwork featured on a range of Australia Post international stamps.
The Musee du Quai Branly in Paris, which opened in July 2006 features Ningura’s women's story repainted on the first floor ceiling of the administration building.
In 2007 and 2008, Ningura was selected as one of the 50 Most Collectible Artists by the Australian Art Collector Magazine.
These works will be showing in the gallery until August 18th.
