Christmas Made Local Market

This year’s Christmas Made Local Market promises to be one of the biggest yet as the beloved Made Local Market celebrates a major milestone - its 10th anniversary, at The Exhibition Building Bowen Hills from November 15 to 16.

Brisbane/Meanjin's biggest indoor handmade and design market will feature more than 130 stalls showcasing handmade and locally designed products, creative workshops for all ages, and a delicious lineup of food trucks.

A dedicated Low Sensory Hour on Saturday from 3pm–4pm will also provide a calmer experience for visitors who prefer a quieter environment.

What began as a small gathering of passionate artisans has grown into one of Brisbane’s most iconic markets, supporting hundreds of makers, artists, and small creative businesses over the past decade.

Known for its vibrant atmosphere, unique handmade treasures, and welcoming community, the market has become a highlight of Brisbane’s event calendar.

“The Handmade Market has always been about more than shopping – it’s about connection,” said organiser Julie Sutton, who has led the event since 2015. “We’ve watched local makers grow their businesses and customers discover the joy of buying handmade. This milestone is a celebration of everyone who’s made it possible.”
