Croc! Lost Giants to Living Legends is a jaw snapping exhibition focused on one of the most formidable predators on Earth, is now showing at Queensland Museum Kurilpa until October 5. 2026.

The exhibition will delve deep into the savage beauty and ancient power of one of the most extraordinary creatures on the planet and take visitors on an awe-inspiring journey through time from prehistoric super crocs to the powerful living legends we share our waterways with today.

Developed in partnership with the Australian National Maritime Museum and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Croc! brings together cutting-edge science, First Nations knowledge, cultural stories and pop culture icons.

For tens of millions of years, crocodiles have outlived dinosaurs, survived mass extinctions, and evolved into apex predators unlike any other and this exhibition showcases the extraordinary story of crocodiles and humanity’s enduring fascination with them.

Croc! blends blockbuster visuals with hands-on experiences, including life-sized models, immersive storytelling, rare specimens, and cutting-edge research designed to give visitors of all ages the opportunity to understand and appreciate these remarkable animals.

Visitors will be taken on a thrilling journey through history, from the revered Egyptian god Sobek to the deep cultural connections crocodiles hold in First Nations stories. The exhibition also explores the creature’s place in modern conservation efforts and its iconic status in movies and music, offering a family-friendly experience that entertains and educates.

Croc! also features stunning works by First Nations artists Alick Tipoti (Koedal, Zugubaw Baydham, Kuki Guuba) and Bernard Lee Singleton Jr.  (Umpila, Djabugay / Yirrgay man, raised on the Cape York Peninsula, now based in Cairns).

Good to know - On Monday afternoons from 2pm, the sound is turned down and session capacity is reduced for Relaxed Hours, which are ideal for guests on the autism spectrum and anyone who would benefit from a less busy setting to experience Croc!.
