Paddo Tavern Makeover
Paddington
Updated: Mar 08, 2026
The Paddo Tavern, the landmark Paddington pub that has been a watering hole for generations of Brisbane residents, is undergoing a jaw-dropping upmarket transformation, which will be developed in stages and set to be completed sometime in 2027.
The large-scale extension, designed by Brisbane-based Craig W Chandler Architects, will include new function rooms, a pre-function area, commercial kitchen, bar and lounge, plus an extensive roof and façade upgrade. Inside, patrons will enjoy refurbished spaces, including the comedy club, gaming area, and a striking curved staircase feature in the lounge.
While parking will be retained, spaces will be reduced from 84 to 79, with a massive wall of green added to the Campbell St side to enhance street appeal. Accessibility also will be improved with the addition of a lift.
