Oi ! Taco Food Truck

Brisbane

Oi! Taco are no longer in operation.

Bringing a fresh taste of Mexico to the streets of Brisbane is Oi!Taco, the food truck that earned its stripes at weekend markets and now pops up around town.

If you spot the pelican and palm tree emblazoned vintage van in the neighbourhood stop by for some delicious authentic quesadillas or tacos, or, in the morning a plate of Huevos ranchos or Chorizo scramble with a Jamaican Iced Tea.

Quesadilas consist of two hand made corn tortillas with melted cheese, beans and with a choice of chicken, steak or chorizo and goats cheese filling, while taco filings include chicken (Yucatan style) or pulled pork. Guacamole and sour cream is extra and there’s a line-up of red and green pepper jalapeno sauces to make them as hot as you like.

Meantime the huevos ranchos is a tortilla with beans, cheese and salsa topped with fried egg and the chorizo scramble comes with charred veges, sour cream and beans (both of these options come gluten-free).

Need to know: Currently Oi! Taco can be found parked at Betty’s Espresso every Saturday morning where it dishes up a Mexican Betty’s breakfast and on Thursday opposite the Newstead Gasworks. Before visiting be sure to check its Facebook page for confirmation of these other locations.

Nice to know: In a past pre-Mexican life the food truck lived on Bribie Island where it was the local mobile fish’n’chip van, hence the retro seaside artwork.
