Diner En Blanc

A secret spring dining event that started in France a quarter of a century ago, Diner en Blanc was quickly adopted by the cities of the world and last year Brisbane joined the club, causing a massive gathering of elegant white clad people to mysteriously appear and dine in unprecedented style by the river at South Bank.

This year again, on the cusp of spring another batch of people will dress top to toe in white and meet for the uber chic picnic in a public space where old fashioned decorum and manners modelled on the glamour days of court society rule and traffic, electronics and the bothersome distractions of the world are forgotten.

This dreamlike event is only open to the chosen ones (you must be invited by someone who’s already been or be selected from a lucky few), who will learn the secret location only on the day of the event and once there, will be expected to participate in the unexpected and uphold the rules of engagement. Guests come from a variety of backgrounds with their only common ground being a love for the aesthetic and good taste.
