Fiddler on the Roof

The multi-award-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof is bringing its timeless songs, heartfelt storytelling and big theatrical moments to Brisbane's QPAC Theatre for a strictly limited two-week season from October 9 to 25.

Directed by Jordan Fein, this fresh take on the beloved classic combines inventive staging and striking theatrical design with a moving exploration of family, faith, tradition and what happens when the world around you begins to change.

Set in 1905 in the small village of Anatevka, the story follows Tevye, a Jewish milkman whose life revolves around his family, faith and long-held traditions. But when his five daughters begin forging their own paths, Tevye finds himself caught between preserving the customs he holds dear and embracing an uncertain future.

Leading the star-studded Australian cast is Troy Sussman (Back to the Future, Les Misérables, Disney's Aladdin) as Tevye, alongside Sigrid Thornton as Yente and John Waters (Offspring, All Saints, Play School) as Lazar Wolf. Thornton and Waters reunite on stage for the first time since All the Rivers Run, while Alexis Fishman stars as Golde, with rising performers Freya Boltman, Ellen Ebbs and Caity Plummer taking on the roles of Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava.
