THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE.BrisAsia Festival 2026 is charging into the Year of the Horse* with Lunar Soul Party, a high-energy cultural fusion mixing Neo Soul, Hip Hop, and Chinese opera under the stars at West End’s Thomas Dixon Centre on Tuesday, February 17th.
With lion dancers from the famous Wushu Academy, DJs, local hip hop heroes, Chinese opera, live instrumentalists plus sumptuous pan-Asian cuisine and drinks by award-winning Queensland chef, Shane Delia, Lunar Soul Party brings Brisbane's intercultural music scene together in one electric rooftop celebration.
Neo Soul DJ Saie sets the sonic foundation, creating connective tissue between diverse musical traditions. Local hip hop hero Chong Ali brings contemporary urban authenticity and high-energy performances. Celebrated Chinese opera singer Zi Wang delivers unexpected pop-up moments that surprise and captivate. Live instrumentalists round out the experience, blending traditions into seamless musical conversations.
Beyond the music, guests can indulge in sumptuous pan-Asian cuisine with free-flowing drinks, all crafted to match the rhythm of the night. The combination of sophisticated cocktails and canapés with raw performance energy deliberately challenges hierarchies between high and popular culture.
BrisAsia Festival 2026 features an extensive lineup of free events, with select sessions requiring tickets. Check out the full program of events for further info.
