Thornlands Community Park

Thornlands

Thornlands Community Park is a fantastic, fully-fenced playground and neighbourhood park that has it all, from climbing towers and tube slides to a nature play space and dinosaur dig.

The popular park, which recently received a multi-million dollar upgrade, has several distinct zones providing fun for all ages and all abilities.

The colourful climbing structure with its towers and tunnels, mega slides and crows' nests, appeals to all kids, from toddlers to teens.

The double flying fox is also a popular attraction, along with spinners, swings and sandpits. One sandpit features little diggers while another boasts the bones of a dinosaur, with excavation tools provided.

This awesome playground also includes nature play - with stepping stones, tree stumps and giant frogs - as well as water play with pumps and troughs.

The whole playground features a farm-theme with huge pumpkins, watermelons and tomatoes scattered throughout, a 'tractor ride' and an adorable Farmer's Market Cafe cubby house.

Families can easily spend a fun morning or afternoon here, with plenty of play to keep the kids entertained, plus picnic shelters and barbecues.  In addition, there are water fountains including ones designed to refill water bottles and excellent amenities with disabled and baby change facilities.

Need to know - Four-legged family members are not permitted inside the fenced playground but are allowed on leash in the surrounding parkland, which features more picnic shelters and a cycleway that encircles a large, grassy oval where kids can kick a ball around.
