Haigh's Chocolates
Brisbane
Updated: Mar 25, 2026
Australia’s oldest family-owned premium chocolate maker, Haigh’s Chocolates, is making its highly anticipated retail debut in Brisbane with three stores scheduled to open in 2026.
Queenslanders will finally be able to access the signature in-store experience and shop an extensive range of artisan chocolates in person, beginning with the first opening at Westfield Mt Gravatt in August. Following the August launch, two additional stores will open at Westfield Chermside and Westfield Carindale later in the year.
Operating for over 110 years, Haigh’s Chocolates is Australia’s oldest family-owned chocolate maker and prides itself on being a bean to bar specialist, crafting premium quality chocolate from ethically sourced ingredients.
Founded in Adelaide in 1915, the business remains a fourth-generation family-owned icon. Alfred E Haigh opened the first Haigh’s Chocolates store on Saturday, May 1. The shop was established at the iconic Beehive Corner, situated on King William Street in Adelaide, South Australia.
In 1919, Alfred moved all chocolate making to a dedicated factory at Parkside, South Australia. This site continues to serve as the company's original factory and Visitor Centre, representing the foundation of the brand's history for more than 110 years.
The expansion follows a significant increase in demand across the eastern seaboard, with Queensland customers currently representing 18 percent of the brand's total online sales. To meet this growth, Haigh’s has boosted its chocolate production capacity from 1,100 tonnes to 2,000 tonnes per year following the opening of a new production, warehouse, and online fulfilment facility in South Australia.
