Vietnamese Mint

Bulimba

Vietnamese Mint brings the fresh flavours of Vietnam to Bulimba with a mouth-watering menu of authentic fare.

Nestled on Oxford Street, near the cinema, owner Chef Tze has added an eye-catching mural to Oxford Street, painted by local artist Jacqueline Hill. The stunning mural of Ha Long Bay - a beautiful natural wonder in northern Vietnam - entices passersby to stop and admire the mural and come inside. Make sure to take a selfie and tag yourself on Instragram with #trompemoongate.

The restaurant has recently been refurbished and has been transformed from rustic to contemporary with modern tiles and pale green VJ boards, with lanterns on the wall and a shelf filled with Neko cats.

Starters include Vietnamese spring rolls, rice paper rolls, spicy salt and pepper squid, panko prawns, and crispy fried tofu sprinkled with five spice salt.

Fresh salads are loaded with vermicelli noodles, crisp lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, coriander, mint, fried shallot and crushed peanuts, with your choice of pork or vegetarian spring rolls, lemongrass chicken, chilli beef or fried tofu, and a side of Vietnamese Mint's special fish sauce dressing.

Signature dishes range from perennial favourites Pad Thai Chicken and Pad See Ew, to Honey Soy Chicken and Chilli Jam Chicken - chicken breast and market fresh veggies wok tossed in a mild chilli jam paste, served with jasmine rice.

For fans of seafood, there's Malaysian-inspired Mee Goreng (thick egg noodles with prawns, squid and tofu wok charred in an Indian influenced spicy tomato sauce), Garlic Prawn Noodles (prawns and fresh veggies wok tossed in garlic oyster sauce) and the highly recommended Seafood Laksa - a rich coconut curry broth with prawns, squid, fish cake, fish balls, tofu, and thin noodles.

Plus, there's wok tossed noodle dishes, rice dishes, and noodle soups including Bulimba Special Pho - 12-hour beef broth, double sliced rare beef, double brisket and beef balls, served with fresh Thai basil, bean sprouts,  fresh chilli and lemon.

Drinks wise, there's Vietnamese iced coffee, house-made lemon iced tea, young coconut juice, green tea, sparkling sodas like Lychee, Strawberry Dreams, or Butterfly Pea Flower, and bubble teas with milk and fruit flavours to choose from, and an array of toppings from tapioca pearls to rainbow jelly and more.

Vietnamese Mint is also licensed with white and red wine, apple or pear cider and beer on hand.
