North Lakes Town Centre has officially been approved, paving the way for a $180 million lifestyle precinct set to bring five-star accommodation, destination dining, entertainment, wellness and premium retail to the growing Moreton Bay region.
Occupying a 1.72-hectare site, the 25,000sqm development by Queensland-owned Comiskey Group is designed to be a day-to-night destination, bringing together hospitality, leisure and lifestyle experiences in a setting unlike anything currently offered in North Lakes.
At the heart of the precinct will be a 144-room, nine-storey five-star hotel, designed as an urban resort, alongside an approximately 2,000sqm signature Comiskey Group hospitality venue. These major drawcards will be complemented by a curated mix of premium and casual dining, retail and lifestyle operators, health and wellness businesses, family entertainment and commercial offerings.
Designed as an integrated lifestyle destination rather than a traditional shopping centre, the precinct aims to create a place where locals and visitors can dine, shop, stay, meet friends and enjoy entertainment, all within one thoughtfully designed space.
A central landscaped public realm will provide a focal point for the development, with welcoming outdoor spaces designed for gathering, connection and activity throughout the day and into the evening.
Designed by award-winning architects Bureau Proberts, the precinct will feature contemporary architecture and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor environments. The development is set to introduce a new level of premium hospitality and accommodation to North Lakes, with an offering comparable to established Brisbane lifestyle destinations such as James Street in Fortitude Valley, Gasworks in Newstead and West Village in West End.
Comiskey Group Director Rob Comiskey said the approval marked a major milestone for a project designed to change the way people experience North Lakes, moving beyond the traditional shopping centre model to create a destination where people can spend time across dining, accommodation, entertainment and leisure.
With approval secured in September 2026, detailed design work is already underway, with construction scheduled to commence in early 2027.
