Tuscan Terrace

Mt Cotton

Tuscan Terrace  is Sirromet Winery’s very own ‘Amoroso’, a traditional tree-shaded area adjacent to the Cellar Door, albeit in this case with its own Tuscan Kitchen attached.

Diners can take a seat at one of the many tables under the trees and tuck into wood-fired pizza or home-made pasta while gazing upon the gorgeous rolling green hills of Sirromet and beyond, seemingly a million miles yet only half an hour from Brisbane.

As such Tuscan Terrace makes an ideal place for that long lazy lunch in a picturesque setting, either on weekdays or weekends.

Executive chef Andrew Mirosch, who is also the mastermind behind Sirromet’s fine dining venue Restaurant Lurleen’s, has put his own touch on the menu here, which features delicious rustic Tuscan-style dishes matched with Sirromet’s own wines. All dishes are prepared where possible using locally grown produce and locally caught seafood.

For starters there’s options such as fresh baked Tuscan sourdough, extra large green olives stuffed with spicy sausage, delicious Arancini or breadcrumbed Italian soft cheese.

Like all dishes, pizzas are generous in size and come with luscious toppings such as Gambaretti (Stradbroke king prawns, scallops, smoked Spanish mackerel, calamari, chilli, fresh basil, mozzarella and sugo) or  The Tuscan Farmhouse (pork hock ham, Criberg bacon, smokes sausage, fetta, poached pear, balsamic, sugo and fresh mozzarella).

Pastas are all made onsite (except for gluten free) and include Seafood and Pumpkin gnocchi (with local Stradbroke king prawns, Hervey bar scallops, SA Kinkawooka blue mussels), Lasagne, Fusilli Bolognese and Spaghetti Carbonara.

Meanwhile amongst the Mains are Sirromet’s own House Smoked Huon Salmon served in half avocadoes with roasted macadamia nuts, goats cheese and baked beetroot, Wood Fired Roasted Crackling Pork Hock, chilli spiced Crumbed Calamari and Parmesan and Herb Crumbed Scaloppini.

For dessert highly recommended are the heavenly Crisp Meringues filled with fresh berries, banana, passionfruit, Chantilly Cream and shaved white chocolate or the Italian classic Tiramisu.

In addition there’s a small gourmet Children’s Menu of Fusilli Bolognese, Crumbed Free Range Chicken Breast, Ham and Cheese Pizza (serves 2-3 kids), Lasagne or Spaghetti Carbonara.

Need to know – All ordering is done at the kitchen counter and meals collected at the kitchen window around the corner. Beers, wine and drinks are also available at the kitchen counter.

Nice to know – Free Wi-fi is available onsite and throughout the winery. There’s also an onsite children’s playground nearby. And if you'd like to stay the night, Sirromet Wines have a fabulous glamping site nearby.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
