Hamilton

Enjoy-Inn at Hamilton Harbour brings the long held traditions of its Fortitude Valley restaurant to a contemporary setting north of the river.

Since opening some 30 years ago the owners, who hail from high end restaurants in China and Taiwan, turned Enjoy Inn into a Valley institution and now their children have taken the reins at the slick incarnation at Hamilton Harbour.

Locals pour in for takeaway or to take a seat in the glass-sided wraparound space that features caged paper lanterns, traditional carved stools and mod table settings.

On the extensive menu are Enjoy Inn’s signature salt and pepper quail for entrée and Peking duck for main along with a plethora of Chinese favourites like lobster with ginger and shallots, sizzling Szechuan chicken, salt and pepper pork ribs and dumplings.

Otherwise braised pork belly with taro, Shanghai pockets or fried mud crab with ginger shallots and chilli, stir fried prawns with green tea and honey BBQ pork or Moreton Bay bugs with black bean sauce add to the variety with desserts to follow such as deep fried coconut pudding with ice-cram and crispy fried yam roll.

Need to know: Yum Cha is set to become a lunch time drawcard in the new year but as of this stage is still in the makings.
