Corner Store Cafe

Toowong

Had corner shops been like Toowong's Corner Store Cafe, with its airy dining pavilion, herb garden and serving excellent coffee and cafe fare, they may all still be alive today.

Despite its location out on a limb on a busy road the cute weatherboard cafe, occupying the shell of an afore-mentioned store and still stocking some grocery staples in its front room, attracts a crowd.

Food-wise the breakfast menu features dishes like Peach, fig and kombucha bircher, Cherry Pie Waffles, Beef Vindaloo Quesadilla or Maple & Rum Glazed leg ham with roast potato, poached eggs and Hollandaise while lunch options include Satay Chicken Brown Rice Bowl, Vegan Burger or Grilled Local Prawn roll.

Corner Store Cafe is also great for children, with the (well-fenced) back yard vege patch to roam and a cracking kids breakfast and lunch menu featuring the likes of poached eggs soldiers, waffles with ice-cream and maple syrup, fruit salad, BLT with ketchup or ham and cheese toastie..
