Chouquette

New Farm

The nearest thing to a true taste of France to be found on these shores, Chouquette is a heaven-sent little boulangerie patisserie tucked away up a side street off Brunswick Street in New Farm.

And it also happens to be a top spot for a Gallic style breakfast – on weekends Francophiles flock to the handful of tables to be greeted with a cheery ‘Bonjour’ and indulge in a (Merlo) coffee and croissant, pain au chocolat or croissant aux amandes.

But it’s not just about the croissants - the baguettes, pain de compagne, tartes, quiches and gateaux are all worth a trip across town for.
