Indigenous Art Program: Shared Connections

Various venues

Brisbane City Council's Indigenous Art Program brings Shared Connections, an exhibition of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks, to hidden laneways, city streets, museums and more from May 1 until July 31.

Featuring a series of outdoor art galleries, guided tours and panel discussions, this fascinating art program offers rich and diverse responses to the artists' connection to cultural heritage, and ensures that Indigenous art is accessible and visible for visitors and residents alike.

In addition to its current programs and exhibitions, Brisbane residents and visitors can enjoy an extensive permanent public art collection of more than 190 artworks located through the city and surrounding suburbs.

Need to know - There’s plenty of opportunity to explore art in Brisbane during May with Council’s public art program including Botanica: Contemporary art outside at the City Botanic Gardens and Brisbane Canvas, commissioned street art.
