Broken Hearts Burger Club

Morningside

The highly-anticipated Broken Hearts Burger Club is now open in Morningside, slinging homemade, American-style, smashed burgers and fries.

Broken Hearts Burger Club, Morningside

While living in LA, co-owner Jay Gordon discovered Tripp Burgers, a sidewalk burger stand, and it was love at first taste. After returning to Australia, Jay began trying to re-create Tripp's mouth-watering hand-smashed burgers from scratch.

Documenting his journey on his Instagram account, Peer Reviewed Burgers, Jay quickly gained a loyal following of fellow burger lovers, keen to get to get their hands on one of his homemade burgers. After selling out at several pop-ups, it was time to open a legit burger joint, joined by his childhood-friend Ché Quaedvlieg.

Located on Morningside's busy thoroughfare Wynnum Road (where Wing Fix was, a few doors down from Lick! Ice Cream), the burger bar has been decked out in red, white and blue.

The menu is small and simple featuring BHBC's signature burger (a blend of chuck steak, top sirloin and bacon) topped with American cheese on a soft bun, available with a single, double or triple smashed patty - with the option of making it 'fancy' by including lettuce, tomato and onion.

Add some shoestring fries with a side of Ché's secret sauce, washed down with a classic American milkshake in 5 delish flavours: chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter, lime and vanilla.

Otherwise, there's a tasty chicken burger, cheesy fries, chilli fries, pulled pork fries and chilli in a cup or bowl.
