Jimboomba House Restaurant

Jimboomba

Jimboomba House Restaurant is one of South East Queensland's best kept secrets, a top-notch dining destination housed in an historic homestead in Jimboomba, less than an hour's drive from Brisbane.

Located on the grounds of Hills Golf Course, Jimboomba House is believed to be the second oldest building in South East Queensland, constructed in 1845. The house originally served as a homestead, stage coach depot and holding yards for the famed Cobb & Co stage coach company.

Relocated 1km to its current location, this historic building is now a charming restaurant providing lovely views across the greens from the verandah, while inside has been restored to its former glory with character features such as decorative fretwork, VJ boards and polished floorboards.

Open for lunch and dinner, the menu features a dazzling array of delicious dishes.  Lunch options range from gourmet pizzas and sumptuous salads such as their Asian seafood roll salad (prawns and scallops wrapped in snapper & smoked salmon cooked in light, crispy tempura batter served with fresh greens, zesty salsa and Asian dipping sauce); while mains include rib eye steak and veal scaloppine (tender fillet of veal in a rich red wine and mushroom sauce served with creamy mash and asparagus).

Often fully booked for dinner, diners can start with freshly baked cobb loaf with garlic butter, classic bruschetta and Turkish bread served with a selection of house made dips.  Alternatively, there are fresh oysters, smoked salmon dumplings, Peking duck pancakes and Moroccan chicken skewers.

Mouth-watering mains consist of Black Angus steaks, slow-cooked lamb shanks, oven-baked stuffed chicken breast, twice-cooked roast duck and the highly-recommended pork belly with glazed apple, croquettes and seasonal vegetables.

Renowned for their delectable desserts, diners can indulge in sticky date pudding, apple berry crumble, crème brulee, and lemon cheesecake served with praline, passionfruit and white chocolate sauce, strawberries and cream.

The restaurant is child-friendly with a kids' menu consisting of ham and pineapple pizza, homemade chicken nuggets, fish and chips, and spag bol. All kids’ meals include a glass of soft drink or juice and ice cream for dessert.

Nice to know - Jimboomba House is open for breakfast on Sundays. Breakfast fare ranges from classic bacon and eggs and eggs benedict to breaky pizza and pancake scrolls - pancakes rolled up with maple syrup, strawberries and coulis or nutella and banana, served with ice-cream.
