PORO CAFE HAS CLOSED.

Poro Cafe is the Redlands best kept secret - a cafe, bakery and international deli that specialises in Finnish food.

Poro Cafe Thornlands

This gem of a cafe offers a unique range of freshly baked Finnish pastries such as korvapuusti (cinnamon scrolls), dallas pullas, and delicious danishes filled with jam and topped with cream.

Savoury treats on offer include traditional karelian pies with egg butter, while light meals range from open sandwiches - think cured salmon or herring on house-made rye - salads, quiches, and pot pies, as well as seasonal specials.

Coffee on pour is Poro Coffee - a locally-roasted, signature blend specifically crafted for Poro Cafe to taste like the perennial favourite Finnish coffee, Juhla Mokka. It is available as whole beans for your coffee machine or ground for brewing percolated coffee at home.

Poro Cafe

Poro also provides a wide selection of Finnish and Scandinavian sweets such as Ahlgrens Bilar, Gott & Blandat, Polly, Marianne and Dumle to name a few, along with imported deli items like lingonberry jam and lingonberry drink, Julmust (a Swedish soft drink), ginger snaps, sourdough rye crackers, crisp bread, cod roe paste, and herrings - pickled, dill or mustard.

Poro Cafe

Nice to know - Poro Cafe is a not-for-profit cafe and bakery located in the only aged cafe facility in Australia for the Australian Finnish community, with all proceeds used to fund Finncare community services.
