Merriweather Cafe

South Brisbane

MERRIWEATHER CAFE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Merriweather is a joint venture between Josh Russell (Cup Specialty Coffee) and Mairi MacKinnon. Situated on the corner of Russell and Cordelia Streets in South Brisbane, overlooking Musgrave Park, Merriweather serves single origins as well as a special house blend created by Cup (of course).

Breakfast is simple but scrumptious:  oat porridge with poached pears, butterscotch and pecans, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and roasted fennel, and sausage baguettes with cheese, rocket and onion jam.

The evolving menu includes lunch specials which change daily.  Sweet treats, from cakes and pastries to muffins, are made fresh each day while a rooftop garden is in the works so the cafe can use herbs and veggies grown in their own garden.

On trend with an industrial rustic fit out (polished concrete flooring and timber and steel tables), Merriweather is made warm and welcoming with impeccably polite staff, table service, bowls of fruit, fresh flowers and potted plants.
