Limes Hotel

Fortitude Valley

THE LIMES HOTEL HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

This hip and happening uber chic hotel, located on the fringe of Fortitude Valley, is a destination within itself courtesy of its rooftop bar. The luxuriously kitted out building top (think suede latticed booths within which to recline on plump cushions and watch the sun set, listen to jazz or watch a movie and a private lap pool) gets packed with the young and the groovy most nights.

Rooftop aside though, this is one of the finest places to stay in Brisbane. With only twenty one rooms the service is personal and gives the impression of staying at an exclusive club.

The beds, linen and furnishings are of impeccable quality and with little touches like a silk hammock in the courtyard rooms and an espresso machine in all rooms, not to mention the non-stereotypical Room Service breakfast courtesy of Cirque Cafe, it will leave a lasting impression.

Location-wise it may be a short hike from the Valley central but The LimesHotel presides over a burgeoning little village of hip and happening places: Dutch Courage Officers' Mess, late night pizza joint Alfredo's Pizzeria and The Mill on Constance bar in the old heritage listed flour mill as well as being a short walk to indie music venue The Tivoli.

*If there is a drawback it is that on weekends it can be a little noisy in the ground floor rooms late at night as the last of the bar patrons negotiate their way merrily through the foyer. A few end up availing themselves of the $99 Midnight Room special, which is (subject to availability) for those who’ve run out of party juice.
