Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to celebrate French Choral Masterpieces, performed by the Queensland Choir, talented soloists and an orchestra, in the splendid surrounds of Brisbane’s historic St John's Cathedral on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Music-lovers will have to chance to hear an outstanding range of soloists when the Choir performs some of the finest French choral music, including Faure’s Requiem, Charpentier’s Te Deum in D Major, and Franck’s Psalm 150, accompanied by the Sinfonia of St Andrew’s.

Faure’s ethereal Requiem OP48, composed in the late 1800s and now a popular choral work worldwide, will feature treble Louis Formison and award-winning baritone, musical director and singing teacher Jason Barry Smith, whose students have included The Veronicas and members of The Ten Tenors.

Charpentier's work will feature four soloists including American-born soprano Rachael Griffin, who has performed with Opera Queensland in New York and London; up-and-coming lyric coloratura soprano Annika Hinrichs; and musical couple Eleanor Adeney (mezzo soprano) and Tomasz Holownia (tenor) who founded Brisbane-based choral ensemble One Equal Music last year.

This concert by the Queensland Choir offers concert-goers the chance to hear outstanding classically-trained singers performing uplifting and much loved choral music, backed by one of Australia’s premier choirs and the Sinfonia of St Andrew’s orchestra, conducted by Kevin Power, in the majestic St John’s Cathedral with its soaring ceilings and atmospheric acoustics.
