Food Discovery Tour

Sunnybank Plaza

Join accomplished chef and charming host, Tony Ching, on a tour of Sunnybank’s best Asian restaurants, grocery stores and butcher for $68pp.

These award-winning food discovery tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 10am and 4pm. Running three hours, morning tours conclude with lunch at the legendary Landmark restaurant; while afternoon tours encompass a progressive dinner visiting several Asian eateries at Sunnybank Plaza.

Both tours include trips to Asian supermarkets where your gregarious guide, Tony, offers advice on how to pick produce, choose sauces and best bets for Asian fast food – with some fun and fascinating facts thrown in. A visit to the butcher is also built-in with some sampling of roast pork, Chinese barbecue sausages or chicken feet.

The afternoon tour is terrific as you discover hidden dining treasures in nooks and crannies – like Vietnam Corner tucked away in the undercover car park, plating up authentic Vietnamese like lemongrass chicken and Hong Kong-style roasted barbecue duck.  Other tour highlights include taste testing traditional Taiwanese desserts at Meet Fresh - red beans and milk crushed ice or supreme mango crushed ice, EasyWay’s signature milk bubble tea with pearls (chewy tapioca balls), udon noodles and tempura at Mappen and miso soup and seafood katsu at Himawari.

Food Discovery Tours are great value for money with more food than you can shake a chopstick at and a goodie bag (valued at $25) to take home. Words of advice – don’t eat for a few good hours before the tour.
