Dawn Tea Rooms

Chermside

THE DAWN TEA ROOMS HAVE PERMANENTLY CLOSED SADLY DUE TO THE WIDENING OF GYMPIE RD,

The Dawn Tea Rooms are located where Chermside's Dawn Cinema once stood and although on a busy road, inside the atmosphere is calm and peaceful - perfect for enjoying a soothing cup of tea and one of the many indulgent treats on offer.

With a beautiful chandelier above and surrounded by white shabby chic furniture, flowers and all things pretty, visitors definitely feel they are in a special place.

Owner, Silvana Futia and her staff provide wonderful, friendly service and the food here is something special too, all made by Silvana herself, using first class ingredients. Previously an employee at the former Queenie's Traditional Tea House, Silvana is well placed to provide a first class experience to those visiting her tea rooms.

Whilst luscious high teas are the specialty at the Dawn Tea Rooms, there are plenty of other mouth-watering options to choose from. In fact, it may well take a few visits to the tea rooms to choose a favourite, as everything is truly delicious. A light and fluffy sponge cake filled with fresh whipped cream and topped with a tangy passionfruit icing competes with other sweet treats, such as creamy berry or passionfruit cheesecake and a rich yet light chocolate almond cake.

Diners can choose from three versions of high tea: the Dawn Classic High Tea, the Matinee Gluten Fee High Tea, and the Intermission High Tea (catering for younger children). Savoury items like traditional ribbon sandwiches, savoury muffins and vegetable frittata make great options for those looking for a not-so-sweet treat. Gluten free and dairy free options are also available on the menu.

A range of Elmstock teas and coffee from Capalaba roasters, Sugar 'n Spice Coffee are served here, along with old fashioned soft drinks (from Bundaberg Soft Drinks and Bravo), Nippy's Premium Juices, San Pallegrino sparkling water and a selection of milkshakes. Future plans for the tea rooms include selling a range of loose leaf teas.

This is the perfect spot for special occasions such as bridal showers, celebrations, mother/daughter outings, a catch up with girl friends or a quite break with that someone special. And with a boutique right next door, there's the chance to do some shopping too. Treat yourself today and enjoy great old fashioned service and quality food in a setting reminiscent of tea rooms of yesteryear.

Nice to know - The Dawn Tea Rooms are available for private functions and Silvana is available for catering - enquire for details.

Need to know - Dawn Tea Rooms is located within the premises of Odyssey Bridal and Formal Wear - enjoy browsing through the collection of beautiful gowns before or after indulging. There is a car park at the rear of the building and on street parking.
