Cake And Bake

West End

CAKE AND BAKE HAS MOVED FROM ITS WEST END PREMISES TO NEWSTEAD IN APRIL 2019.

Cake and Bake in West End is the latest venture from Jocelyn Hancock, foodie icon and founder of renowned Valley store Jocelyn's Provisions. This treasure trove of all things delicious sees Jocelyn return to doing what she loves - baking.

With produce sourced from the Southern Downs and the Scenic Rim, Cake and Bake offers a wide range of culinary delights and is a one stop shop for those looking for fresh, clean fare to put on the table. Growing up on a farm in rural Killarney, Jocelyn is passionate about food and says for her it's all about providence, knowing where your food comes from and supporting regional producers.

Along with her trademark cakes and other sweet treats, here you'll find homemade relishes, natural preserves (keep an eye out for the Meyer lemon curd), compotes, nuts, savoury pastries (with Didier Richeaux heading the pastry team, there's sure to be a French twist to some of these), raw honey from Killarney beehives, quiches, and more.

The professional team here produce high quality and unique goods for every occasion. For something a little different, why not add the R’barb, Rose and R’berry summer fruits to the pantry? Or liven up the humble sandwich with a spoonful of tomato and spice relish.

Jars of pickled beetroot

Cake and Bake offers an exciting range of take home goods including three fresh salads daily. These may include: Scenic Rim green bean, mushroom and red pepper; Kingaroy chickpea, eggplant and lemon or organic potato, Schulte's bacon and Goomburra eggs. The deli counter stocks items such as classic Italian salami from Salumi Australia and oak-smoked rainbow trout from Harris Smokehouse.

A quick stop at Cake and Bake will provide everything needed for a healthy, nourishing meal, a sumptuous dessert and that little extra irresistible something.

Nuts in plastic bags

Street-side seating or in-store cocktail tables make the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat - sweet or savoury. The sweet-tooths won't be disappointed at Cake and Bake, with Jocelyn's signature cakes, slices, biscuits, nougat, biscotti, amaretti and more filling the shelves.

Cellophane bags of crispy meringues come in chocolate, coffee, rose and raspberry and cardamom and brown sugar flavours and beg to be added to your purchases.

In a nutshell -  Call in to this new foodie haven, spoil yourself and feel good knowing that you're supporting local producers. It's great to see the Queen of baked goods back in town.
