AFFINITY RESTAURANT IN PADDINGTON HAS CLOSED IN 2015.

Affinity is a slick little restaurant and bar that serves up an eclectic menu of Mod Oz cuisine with old-fashioned touches from its airy indoor-outdoor digs in Paddington.

Occupying the spot that once house Simpatico, Affinity brings a fresh casual approach to dining, and makes a great spot to pop in for anything from a weekend breakfast to  lunch, dinner or simply an evening cocktail or glass of wine.

Breakfast options include the recommended Spanish Baked Eggs (served with chorizo, paprika, red peppers and tomato) with toasted Ciabatta. Otherwise there’s Stuffed French Toast (filled with marmalade and cream), Breakfast Bruschetta, Egg White Omelette, Toasted Fruit Loaf and an Affinity Tasting Plate with the works.

Lunch and dinner share Appetizers like Scallops with Peporanata, Full Moon Dumplings, Spiced Tomato Soup and Arancini and Entrees like Lemongrass with Chilli Prawns, Sicilian Gnocchi and Warm Duck Salad.

Otherwise drop in for a light lunch like an Open Steak Sandwich, Rice Paper Rolls or the delicious Lamb Plait – grilled lamb with roquette, mint, semi-dried tomato, red onion and ricotta, served with garden salad.

Then for dinner there’s Twice Cooked Pork Belly, Aubergine Lasagne, Chicken Roulard, Rib Fillet or Fish of the Day, with desserts to follow like Mini Apple Pie or Chocolate Agnolotti.

And in a charming blast from the past, the cheese trolley (think First Class airline circa 1980s) has been resurrected for afters. Wheeled out on a vintage trolley are a selection of 5 classic cheeses (Gippsland Brie, Meredith Chevre, Swiss Emanthal, Gorgonzola dolce and Spanish Iberico), crackers, grissini, raisins, port and liqueurs. Diners get to choose from 3 to 5 cheeses which are then plated with the accompaniments and served with a glass of port or liqueur of choice.

On the drinks menu are a small selection of local and international beer and wine, cider and cocktails like Mojito, French and Espresso Martini, Prosecco Fizz and Affinity Punch.
Coffee is Merlo, tea comes as traditional, green, coconut or Chai, iced beverages like Frozen Hot Chocolate, smoothies and fruit and vegetable juices.
