Statum

Brisbane Powerhouse

Experience a circus like no other as Statum – playing at the Brisbane Powerhouse from Oct 17-26 – pitches human bodies against technology in the ultimate state-of-the-art experiment.

Presented by the award-winning Flipside Circus and Counterpilot, the 60-minute physical performance is a new kind of circus spectacle.

It’s a fitting production for this technological age, in which we produce around 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day as our lives are uploaded and recorded and big data just keeps on getting bigger.

Inspired by a series of techno-circus experiments, Statum explores the interplay between human bodies and technology, and fuses live biometric data with acrobatic brilliance to stunning effect. As a result, audience members will have the unique opportunity to inhabit performers’ bodies, muscle tension, heart rate and even step count, in a classic beauty-meets-geekiness display.

Nice to know – Discounted tickets are available to groups of six or more.

Need to know – Statum is suitable for ages 10 years and older.
