Queen Street Mall
Unique to Brisbane, Gathering is the only free Indigenous performance featured weekly in the heart of an Australian capital city, offering live entertainment in the Queen Street Mall every Wednesday at noon.
Presented by Brisbane City Council, Gathering features a stellar line-up of local First Nations artists, showcasing Brisbane's history through storytelling for all ages to enjoy.
These fantastic free performances from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists include traditional and contemporary dance, music, live art, theatre, storytelling and more.
Performers including Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dance Company will showcase traditional Indigenous culture through song and dance, artist Kylie Hill will work on a masterpiece in real time, while Tjaka will bring their unique version of hip hop/electronic beats to the stage.
Since 2015, Gathering has continued to bring a hugely talented cast of performers to the Queen Street Mall, with up to 400 audience members enjoying the show each week.
Gathering is a great opportunity to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in an entertaining and engaging way, with free performances every Wednesday at the Queen Street Mall Main Stage from 12pm-1pm. Gathering runs from February until November.
