Brisbane City Council's Green Heart Fair, Brisbane’s biggest FREE bi-annual sustainability festival, is set to hit Victoria Park/Barrambin on Sunday May 29.

With a focus on creating a clean and green Brisbane, the event inspires residents to be come waste warriors with free sustainability workshops and displays and 3,000 free native plants to give away (on a first-in, first-served basis), as well as artisan markets and free kids activities.

The fair will show you ways to create innovative and easy sustainable living around the home and beyond, to help lower your impact on the environment and lower your cost of living with more hands-on activities and demonstrations.

From composting tips to how to keep bees at home, Green Heart Fair will feature a line-up of Brisbane’s leading experts with innovative environmentally-friendly products and services, as well as a whole day of talks covering a range of sustainable living topics.

Highlights of this year's fair include:

Learn how to create a green home and garden with workshops across the day with sustainability experts including Green Living Australia and Bee One Third, who will show you how to keep bees at home.

Be inspired to reduce your waste at home as the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Zone highlights ways to reduce waste for a more sustainable life. 

Visit the Resilient Home Zone dedicated to flood resilience, showcasing some simple cost-effective ways to help households weather future storms well

Visit the Move for Less Zone and learn more about sustainable travel.

Keep the little ones entertained with a free Dirt Girl show, Water Warriors performances and all day kids’ activities. Kids can enjoy craft workshops, nature play and giant games, all for free.

Shop the Sustainable Fashion Zone where you can reduce your fashion footprint and pick up some pre-loved clothing from Yesterday’s Thrift shops pop up

Meet the stars as Channel 7 Queensland’s personalities join in the fun, with Queensland personality, Kendall Gilding compering the festival.

Take time to meander the stalls of Brisbane's best emerging and established local artisans, who will be showcasing their finest collections of crafty handmade trinkets and oddments, all 100% locally made.

Enjoy delicious food from Brisbane’s favourite food trucks, with more plant-based and gluten free options to cater for all kinds of foodies.

Meanwhile, there'll be live music by Little Mountains to keep the crowds buzzing all day long. And be sure to get a selfie with Gracie the Tree Frog Mascot!

Good to know - The free family day out is an initiative of Brisbane City Council, with attendees encouraged to travel green by bus, bike or walk to Victoria Park/Barrambin (access via Gilchrist Ave, Herston)
