The Little Green Road to Fairyland

Playhouse, QPAC

The Little Green Road to Fairyland is a magical fairy tale for the littlest lovers of dance and music presented by Queensland Ballet and Queensland Music Festival from July 11 to 21 at QPAC.

Inspired by the original 1922 tale by Annie R Rentoul and Ida Rentoul Outhwaite, this uniquely Australian fairytale explores themes of love, hope, compassion, and selflessness as it follows two young children on a dreamlike journey of discovery.

Set in the Australian bush, this whimsical production will spark the imagination of the youngest audience members with colourful sets and costumes, and a touch of fairy magic.

Audiences of all ages will be enchanted with Soprano Kristen Berardi, Elena Kats-Chernin's original score performed live by Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, Paul Boyd's mesmerising choreography, and an ensemble of dancers bringing the colourful characters to life.

According to Queensland Ballet Artistic Director Li Cunxin, “This production will touch the hearts of all who see it, both young and old, and we hope to win over new lovers of ballet and music through The Little Green Road to Fairyland.”

Nice to know - Queensland Ballet will present a sensory friendly performance for families with children living with autism and other sensory needs on Sunday July 14, 1pm.

Need to know - Katie Noonan, Soprano songstress and Artistic Director of QMF, will perform at select performances on Saturday, July 13, 1pm and Sunday, July 14, 3.30pm.

All tickets $30. Family (2 adults & 2 children) $100 (transaction fees apply).
